Thirty-year-old Walter Vismara, an accountant by occupation and by nature, finds himself catapulted from a small factory in Vigevano to an innovative company in Milan, led by the brilliant entrepreneur Cavalier Tosetto. However, Tosetto's passion for football puts Vismara in a difficult situation, forcing him to participate in weekly challenges between singles and married individuals. Despite considering football an absurd sport, he finds himself compelled to play as a goalkeeper to avoid losing his job. Amidst the teasing of colleagues and the complicated relationship with Ada, a secretary he has fallen in love with, Vismara devises a plan for revenge, involving a fallen football star.
